Maybe it’s a little early to do a year in review, but, I expect the next seven weeks or so to happen in a flash, and I can’t imagine much more writerly news is coming down the pipes in the meantime.
This year has been wild for me both personally and writerly.
I had a kid! I also finished the first draft of my first novel, emceed four reading events, performed at one live storytelling event, and got five stories published- three of which were with paying markets.
Heading in to 2026, I’m most looking forward to staring, spellbound, into my son’s eyes while gnaws on his own hands for hours. Beyond that, I’m hoping to complete the next draft of my novel, and to go on submission with a short story collection I’ve pulled together.
In the meantime, I’ll continue to work towards building a community that makes me feel hopeful and excited about the future, especially during this time when it’s so easy to focus on the bleak, scary things happening in this country.
Wishing y’all the best holiday season, and thanks for stopping by!
